Newbie with new post

The Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge is entering the Blog world with this first message!

The members of the Lodge team are already at work preparing for the season. The facility is deep in snow, but even now, we are at work opening up.

We have given the first part of the season  to the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, the 501-c-3 Scientific and Educational Corporation that we founded 30 years ago. The first group will be the 4th grade class from Homer and the Center will have use of the facility until June 18 when we shift gears and prepare for the first lodge guests.

The days are getting longer and the increased daylight shows its face in beautiful ways!
This photo from the lodge shows the McKeon sandbar, a favorite place for hikes, picnics and great fishing \.
